The Bruce Lynton Group originated in 1974 with Bruce Lynton securing Queensland's second BMW franchise.
The dealership was opened in Nerang Street, Southport where it still stands today. In 2008 The Bruce Lynton Group will celebrate 34 years of trading on the Gold Coast.
Since its opening Bruce Lynton has been synonymous with quality, prestige and service, offering customers the opportunity to become part of the Bruce Lynton "family" of valued customers.
For 12 years following the opening of the Nerang Street dealership, Bruce Lynton sold a variety of prestige automotive brands including Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Fiat, Lancia and Renault. In 1988, BMW Australia's growth saw a new direction in "stand alone" dealerships and Bruce Lynton became one such dealership.
A new showroom was built on the Nerang Street site to accommodate the new direction for Bruce Lynton and in 1991 a new Service Department facility was added.
In 1998, Bruce Lynton acquired adjoining sites, and once again the Nerang Street dealership expanded, this time adding another 390 square metres. The expansion created a distinct Approved Used BMW area, a bigger new car showroom and a better appointed dealership, increasing the quality of service offered to BMW customers.
October 2003 heralded a new era for The Bruce Lynton Group, with the change-over of Dealer Principalship from Bruce Lynton to son Beric Lynton being officially announced. After 29 years of service to the BMW brand, Mr Bruce Lynton passed his reign onto his son Beric. As Bruce was the longest serving Dealer Principal of the BMW brand in Australia, Beric then became the youngest, despite having already worked in the business for over 16 years.
On numerous occasions, Bruce Lynton has been the recipient of prestigious awards, both local and within the greater BMW Company. Bruce Lynton is proud to have been recognised for its achievements over the years and continues to maintain an exceptional standard of service.
